Description
The great poet of Urdu. Real name Nazar Muhammad Rashid was born in 1910 in Alipur Chatha town of Gujranwala district. He studied at Government College, Lahore. Initially, he was very much influenced by the humble movement of Allama Mashreqi and used to march in regular uniform and holding a shovel in his hand.
Before M. Rashid and Meera Ji, Urdu poetry was in a straight line. First the introduction of the subject, then the description and finally the poem reached its logical conclusion. The themes of the poems were mostly external phenomena, which in a sense could be called journalistic poems: poems about events, poems about the weather, stories about fairs or patriotism. Or other similar topics were covered in the paragraph. The poems written by Rashid and Meera Ji, on the one hand, are beyond the constraints of rhyme and rhyme, on the other hand, their themes are mostly internal, symbolic and abstract in nature and their poems are addressed to the readers on many levels. ۔
